Terms and conditions
East Riding of Yorkshire Council (the council) on the one part shall undertake to promote all agreed discounts and/or offers to all members of council staff through entries on the council’s intranet (internal website) and quarterly in The Grapevine publication.
Businesses (the company) agreeing to participate in the scheme undertake to supply all members of council staff the agreed discount or offer upon production of their council identification badge, payslip, remittance advice (for foster carers), Shop & Save carers card or the new Shop & Save card.
The company may either opt for a single line listing in the Grapevine (to appear monthly) and the council’s intranet (throughout the year) free of charge or buy an advertisement. The size of the advert would be agreed with the council and business, against the new agreed rates.
The company may, at their own cost, promote their participation in the scheme on their premises or in advertising. Wording of any such promotion and/or advertising must be approved in advance by the council.
The company’s listing or advertisement must not contain any defamatory material, anything that is in breach of copyright and must comply strictly with the provisions of the Trade Descriptions Act 1968 or any statutory re-enactment or modification thereof. The company shall indemnify the council and its officers and printers against any claims, actions or proceedings arising from the publication of the listing or advertisement.
The company will be responsible for funding of the agreed discount and/or offer and shall not make any claim on the council to assist with funding in anyway.
The company’s discount and/or offer shall be valid for a period agreed with the company entering the scheme.
The company’s discount and/or offer may be altered by the company within the agreed deadlines before any publications are printed. Any change will be displayed in the publication once distributed.
The company’s discount and/or offer shall be over and above any other discounts and/or offers the company offers to the general public at any time.
The company will be responsible for ensuring that all members of their staff are aware of their participation in the scheme.
The council cannot be deemed to be endorsing the company’s products or services by agreeing to a company participating in the scheme.
The council cannot be held responsible for any defects, damage or injury caused by or to the company’s products or services purchased through the scheme.
